Wacky Journals – About

General

Hi, I'm WackyIdeas, also known as simply Wacky. I originally created this website sometime around late 2023 as a learning exercise to expand my knowledge in web design. I decided it'd be fun to turn it into a blog.

While the range of topics this blog might host in the future is broad, you can expect the following topics to come up most frequently:

  • Linux
  • Software development
  • Game development
  • Devlogs

There are other topics I'd like to discuss in the future such as mathematics, music, crafting, electronics, cooking, etc., but I haven't come up with enough material worth writing down, and the process of formulating these topics into blogposts, in a way I'd be satisfied with, is not yet fully clear to me. In any case, I'd like to write about stuff I'm interested in.

The stuff I write on this blog is a collection of my own opinions and perspectives; as such, none of my posts should be blindly treated as fact. I get things wrong sometimes just like everyone else does, so in case that happens, I won't hesitate to correct myself. This blog serves to document my personal experiences, which may hopefully end up being useful to someone out there at some point in the future, or entertaining at the very least.

Some projects I think are cool

  • KDE Plasma
  • Geckium
  • Ice2K.sys
  • SerenityOS
  • Ladybird
  • Framework
  • FreeDNS

This blog is licensed under CC BY 4.0, though exceptions for certain content on this site may apply. Generally speaking, feel free to redistribute, use and change my work, but please make sure to credit me and provide references to the proper sources.

Source code

Source code can be freely used without restrictions (although crediting me would be greatly appreciated!) unless specified otherwise. If the code in question isn't mine and/or is referenced from external sources, which I'll specify clearly, then the original licenses of the source code apply.

Light & dark mode

This blog features both a light and dark mode option which can be toggled on the fly, either by clicking on the button in the corner or by pressing Alt+S (Chromium) or Alt+Shift+S (Firefox). Because this feature doesn't rely on JavaScript at all, toggling isn't persistent across pages. To mitigate this problem, the website automatically figures out your preferred mode based on your browser and OS settings (using prefers-color-scheme).

Credits

I want to mention the following projects and people who helped shape this site into what it is now:

Thanks for coming!

In any case, thank you for checking out my blog! If you wish to see what I'm up to, or contact me for business or any other purposes, you can do so through the following:

I try to check my contacts regularly and reply in a reasonable time, but I can't make any promises that I'll always respond quickly.

If you find value in my work, consider donating as a way to say thanks.
