Wacky Journals – Projects

This is a list of notable projects and games that I've created, and/or I'm involved in. Most of them are hosted on my GitHub and GitGud.

Projects

• AeroThemePlasma
An alternative shell for KDE Plasma that aims to replicate the look and feel of Windows 7.

The meta project to AeroThemePlasma, meant to provide libraries and tools for Windows-like desktop shells for KDE Plasma.

  ---

• LibWres
Modernized fork of wrestool, retrofitted and turned into a reusable C++ library for reading and parsing Windows Portable Executable (PE) files. While it can be used for general PE resource extraction, the motivation of this project is MSSTYLES parsing and research.

Uni Projects

• Sub-GHz Wireless Communication Between Two Raspberry Pi Devices
Custom implementation of the lower layers of the network stack for Sub-GHz wireless communication using SiliconLabs EFR32FG SoCs. The SoC communicates with the Raspberry Pi via UART, while interfacing with the upper network stacks is done using the TUN virtual network device. Available as a bachelor thesis, though I should probably write a blogpost about it someday for accessibility reasons.

  ---

• PeerChat
Decentralized group chat application for local networks written in QtQuick with C++, using a custom protocol relying on UDP as a base.

  ---

• TCP Chat Application
Chat application for local networks written in C. Written for Linux, using TCP as the base protocol for communication. Communication is implemented via a centralized client-server model.

  ---

• Joystick-controlled Robotic Arm
Small robotic arm based on stepper motors, driven by a Raspberry Pi with a custom board for driving stepper motors. The motor driving and input handling is written in Python with ROS2.

  ---

• Earthquake Sensor Simulation PoC
Application simulating sensor data with multiple nodes communicating via MQTT and SSDP. CMake project written in C++, using Paho MQTT, EMQX, and a fork of a C++ SSDP library.

  ---

• Student Voting Android Application
Android client application written in Java for managing user accounts, voting sessions, and secure, anonymous voting, backed by a remote server with a MongoDB database and a local SQLite database.

  ---

• Joystick-controlled Tank
Miniature tank driven by a Raspberry Pi and MAX1000 FPGA, Written in C++ and ROS.

Games

• Socially Distant
An up-coming hacking game made by Ritchie, built on open-source technology following the story of a global ransomware attack disrupting a society forced into cyberspace by the spread of a deadly biological threat to humanity. I work here part-time, contributing to both the game and its engine, Inertia.
